Forrest Meggers is an assistant professor at the School of Architecture and the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. He came to Princeton in September 2013 from the National University of Singapore, where he was an assistant professor at the School of Design and Environment. Meggers earned a Dr. sc. with a specialization in building systems from ETH Zurich, and an M.S. in environmental engineering from the University of Iowa.

This summer he will begin work on a research project entitled “Beyond Shading: New Materials, Technologies, and Forms for Cool Spaces” with his colleagues at the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He organized a symposium about architectural technology that was held during Reunions 2014: “Backwards + Forwards: The History and Future of Technical Research in Architecture and Buildings at Princeton”.


EVENT

The event will start with a tour of 3 different buildings: Arch Lab, Frick Lab, and Andlinger Center Lab. Networking will follow at Andlinger. Dr. Megger’s talk at Andlinger Center will complete the event.

*Full time students are free for the talk only (7:00-8:00 PM). Students that wish to attend the networking and tour too can register for $25.


PARKING:

The Tour will start at Frick Chemistry Building. (See campus interactive map http://m.princeton.edu/map/.)


Use Princeton U Parking Lot 21, which can be accessed from Fitz Randolph Rd or from Faculty Rd. 
Once parked, look for event signage & walk past the pool building and Jadwin Gym to get to Frick.  (After the tour, we may move our cars to the North Garage, near Andlinger, which is available to the public after 5 PM.)  


For those not on the tour and going directly to Andlinger for the program: park in the North Garage which can be accessed from Prospect Ave. between Olden St. and Murray Pl.  Look for signage. 


In addition, there is metered street parking available on Prospect Ave and Olden St. for Andlinger, which is near the corner of those two streets.
